Union Sports Minster M.S. Gill Wednesday assured sportspersons that no injustice will be done to them in matters of selection for the Olympics.

'It is not my business to go into each and every sports federation and control it. But I will make sure that injustice is not done to any sportsperson. All these matters are coming up because selections are on,' he said.

The sports minister has already ordered an inquiry into the Indian Weightlifting Federation's bribery scandal in the selection of the team to Olympics and the hearing is Thursday.

Gill is also pinning hopes on the women's 4x400 meters relay team to win a medal at the Beijing Olympics.

'We know the high standards and we cannot attain them. Frankly, we can only make our presence felt at the olympics,' Gill said on the sidelines of the conference of the state ministers of youth affairs and sports.

'Shooters are doing well, but I will be very happy to see our girls running in the final of 4x400 meter relay. That would be a big thing,' he said.

Gill also said the committee for the annual Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, Arjuna and Dronacharya awards will soon be set up and in a fair manner.

'We will have a good committee and I will make sure it does justice,' he said.
