Former India Test cricketer Ashok Mankad died in his sleep here Friday. He was 61.

Mankad, who was the son of former India all rounder Vinoo Mankad, played 22 Tests for India and is remembered for his great batting.

He is survived by his wife Nirupama Mankad, former national tennis champion.
