Chhattisgarh to honour Bindra

The Chhattisgarh government Monday announced a cash reward of Rs.100,000 for Abhinav Bindra who got India its first individual event Olympics gold medal.

Terming Bindra's feat a 'proud achievement', the state government said it would invite the shooter to honour him for a performance that will inspire 'young sports talents'.

Chief Minister Raman Singh congratulated the gold medallist and said his performance will bring more confidence and enthusiasm among Indian players at Beijing.
