Indians out of Olympic swimming competition

The Indian challenge ended in Olympics swimming with Virdhawal Khade and Ankur Poseria failing to qualify in their respective events at the National Aquatic Centre here Thursday.

Khade failed to make it to the semi-final of the men's 50m freestyle, finishing seventh in his heat with 22.73 seconds. Kenyan David Dunford topped the heat with 22.73 seconds.

Poseria ended a disappointing seventh in 100m butterfly. He clocked 54.74 seconds in his heat that was topped by Danish Jakob Schioett Andkjaer, who registered 52.24 seconds.
