In an attempt to lend an European touch to the prestigious Subroto Cup junior football tournament, the organisers have invited Swiss club FC Kushnat to play exhibition matches during the tournament starting Tuesday.

'Due to time constraints, they won't be here for the whole tournament and their under-14 team will play some exhibition matches. The coaches accompanying the teams will also conduct workshops for the budding footballers,' said Air Marshal J.N. Burma, vice-chairman of Subroto Cup Sports Education Society.

Burma also said that the tournament, which is in its 48th year, will see 32 teams in the junior division and 28 teams in the sub-junior section participating.

'We have also doubled the prize money this year. The winning team in the junior category will get Rs. 1,00,000 while the runners-up will get Rs. 60,000. In the sub-junior section, the champion team will get Rs.50,000 and the runners-up Rs. 30,000,' Burma added.

The final in the sub-junior section will be played Sep. 24 while the title clash of the the junior category is slated for Sep. 25.
