Silver for Indian junior women's recurve team in Turkey

The Indian junior women's recurve team Sunday bagged a silver at the World Youth Archery Championship at Antalya in Turkey.

The Indian trio of Belsri Narzary, Rimil Biruly and V. Pranitha lost 190-208 to China in the final, according to information received here.

India were assured of another medal, with Beijing Olympian Pranitha moving into the final of the junior women's recurve individual final.

The other Indians, however, disappointed. Hementa Basumatary lost the bronze medal to Korea's Shin Jae Hun in the cadet men's recurve individual while women's compound team in the cadet category ended fourth.

The junior recurve men's team, despite ranking second overall, finished ninth in the final team position while junior compound men's and women's teams remained contended with the 11th and fifth positions respectively.

In the cadet section, the men's recurve team finished 12th overall while women finished sixth. The story was almost the same in the compound junior section. The men were eighth and the women fourth.
