India coach Gary Kirsten Sunday raised questions on the legitimacy of the switch shot played by England skipper Kevin Pietersen en route his 144 on the fourth day of the second cricket Test here Sunday.

Pietersen, who is credited for the innovative shot, hit Harbhajan Singh for a six switching his stance. Questions have been raised earlier about the legitimacy of the shot. Kirsten said that the shot gives an advantage to the batsman.

'There is a need to look seriously in the legitimacy of the switch shot as it gives undue advantage to the batsman.'

Kirstan is confident of bowling out England early on the fourth morning Monday and take a substantial first innings lead.

England are 282 for sis, in reply to India's first innings score of 453.

'We will try to take the remaining four wickets of England early in the first session tomorrow and take a substantial lead,' said Kirsten after the third day's play.

'Our bowlers will look to struck early. We are at a comfortable position and we will try to win the match,' he said.

Kirsten praised England skipper Pietersen for rescuing his team with an aggressive knock.

'Pietersen played well. It was good to see him playing at such fast rate. '
