India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni Sunday became the second captain in the 132-year history of Test cricket not to have lost a Test match in his first 10 games.

Dhoni has won seven out of his first ten and is second behind Warwick Armstrong, who led Australia in ten Tests, winning eight.

The win against Sri Lanka by an innings and 24 runs in the third Test was the seventh win under Dhoni's captaincy. Under Dhoni's captaincy, India have won two each against Australia and Sri Lanka and one each against South Africa, England and New Zealand.

The other statistical highlights of the third Test are as follows:

Kumar Sangakkara's 137 is the highest individual innings by a Sri Lankan skipper against India, beating the 136 by Mahela Jayawardene at Colombo SSC last year.

Zaheer Khan has registered his best bowling figures in India - 5/72 - eclipsing the 5 for 91 against Australia at Bangalore in 2008.

Zaheer has captured five wickets in an innings eight times, including twice in India.

India have recorded their fifth win at Brabourne Stadium. Their splendid victory by an innings and 24 runs over Sri Lanka is their second biggest at this venue, next only to the win by an innings and 27 runs against New Zealand in 1955-56.

India have now won five series at home against Sri Lanka.

India's win by an innings is their tenth in 17 Tests against Sri Lanka on Indian soil, the winning percentage being 58.82.

India have won two Tests by an innings margins in a row for the first time under Dhoni's captaincy - one each at Kanpur and Mumbai.

The Indian victory is their eighth by an innings margin over Sri Lanka - the most by India against a country - and their 27th overall by an innings.

Virender Sehwag got his eighth Man of the Match award, and his second against Sri Lanka.

Sehwag, with two hundreds in the series and making most runs (491) has received his fourth Player of the Series award - (ave.122.75), including two hundreds, in the series - his second against Sri Lanka.
