This is what the Indian Naval is concerned all about, when Sethu project was originally announced. The encouragement from the TN Government led by M Karunanidhi to the LTTE and the Sethu project cannot go simultaneously, otherwise, the LTTE will be a dangerous power in this area for the commercial establishments, carrying valuables thro' this area. Unless the LTTE is made to surrender to the Sri Lankan government/come to an understanding throwing out their weapons, the Sethu project should not be continued.

Re this latest casualty in the self-induced and self-destructing war in Sri Lanka Conjuring whether the destruction of the FAC naval vessel was due to a sea mine or a torpedo, whether human or otherwise, only confirms the futility of a war that is really based on ethnic and religious grounds and irrational use of power. Going for a suicidal broke political option by carrying out genocide and ethnic cleansing is a no-brainer. The sooner sanity prevails the better. We live in the 21st ccentury governed by the UN Human Charter, not 400AD political doctrine of one individual.
