Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh met Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa to discuss bilateral issues soon after his arrival here Friday.

It was Manmohan Singh's first official engagement after reaching Sri Lanka, where a two-day summit of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) opens Saturday.
