Replying to India's 249, Sri Lanka were 14 for one in their first innings at stumps on the first day of the third and final cricket Test here Friday.

Chaminda Vaas was sent in as the night watchman after the fall of Malinda Warnapura (3). Michael Vandort (3) was the other batsman at the crease.
