From correspondents in Maharashtra, India, 02:00 AM IST
The email attributed to the little known terror outfit Indian Mujahideen claiming responsibility for the Delhi bombings Saturday was sent from a computer in a suburb here, sources said.
The sources said the police traced the source of threat email to Chembur in northeast Mumbai.
Teams of police and Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and cyber crime experts have rushed to Chembur, the police said.
The terror outfit believed to be the frontal organisation of Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), the Lashkar-e-Taiba and Harkat-ul-Jehadi Islami (Huji) had also claimed responsibility for Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Jaipur blasts earlier.
As per preliminary information available, the email was sent from a computer in flat no 201 and 202 in Erick House, 16th Road, Cheetah Camp, Chembur, a police official said. The police were yet to identify the particular computer from which the mail was sent.
On Saturday, when Delhi's market places were crowded with weekend shoppers, six blasts were triggered minutes from each other creating panic in the capital, killing at least 20 people and injuring around 100.
The latest email - 'Message of Death' - sent to various media outlets five minutes before the first blast in Gaffar Market and attributed to the Indian Mujahideen says: 'Indian Mujahideen strikes back once more within five minutes from now. Do whatever you want to stop us if you can.'
This is the second time in less than six weeks that emails have been sent by Indian Mujahideen using Internet Protocol addresses that have been traced in Mumbai.
In July last, a few minutes before the Ahmedabad serial blasts, the terror outfit had sent emails hacking the email address of US national Kenneth Haywood, living and working in Navi Mumbai.
Incidentally, Navi Mumbai and Chembur are barely 15 km apart, the former located on the mainland, while the latter is on Mumbai island.

These terror emails are diversionary and cleverly designed to be so. What is there in a name: let it be Indian Mujahideen or Deccan Mujahideen or some Lashkar bur Bur Ille Mil Qakar Huqm... It means nothing from viewpoint of actionability. The names may have been falsely coined to mislead detection. The terrorists of Mumbai blast started off from Karachi in a vessel and then with its fuel exhausting, jumped on to a trawler and killed all its occupants but its driver whose throat they slit upon reaching near Colaba shores. They used stolen cellphones but the calls made or received provided some itelligence. Some of these facts were known before and some after the disaster. But no agency to use or act swiftly on their basis and prevent the Jihadists. It seems the way we go about national security, we,meaning the votebank politicians among us, would instead go on to feather our own nests and hand over our free country to jihadists rather than stem the rot in our security setup
I am a malaysian and may i give you some suggestent.Ref the captured terrorist start from what he is wearing shirts pants and what so ever.Trace the place of orgin and maybe you can know exactly where these murders are from.
Terrorism intelligence is meaningful only when it is effective, translating into solid actions that deter terrorists from further mischief. But these email origin decipherings have not led us anywhere so far.
From the details of this email, which have been published in media (elsewhere), the terrorists have loudly proclaimed the fact that Gujarat police pointed to some specified 'mastermind' behind the Ahmedabad blasts but similar police detection of the 'mastermind' behind the Delhi blasts would not be possible. This the mail said just before the Delhi blasts. Their audacity for a while seems to outwit our police and intelligence brains if they have been deployed at all in earnest to counter terrorist acts.
